OLIVER
Formerly one half of a live duo, Oliver emerged as a self-titled solo artist in 2016, an outlet for cold electronics conceived by London-based producer and DJ, Oliver Gibson. Born from within the capital's neglected walls and spaces, the project was formed around an intersection between Post-Punk, EBM, Darkwave, Industrial and Rave. Cutting his teeth as an artist in London’s clubs and warehouses, Oliver’s sonic interests lay in a non-purist approach, a resistance against convention.
After teasing edits in his sets and a remix of R.L. Crutchfield’s classic ‘No, Nothing, Never’ from Dark Day, Gibson made his debut in late 2020 with the 5-track ‘Knuckle Love’ EP on St. Petersburg’s, Mosaique Records. Armed with remixes from Colombia’s Filmmaker and newly formed LANDER (one half of Years of Denial + Claus Fuss), the EP personifies the alternative space Gibson operates in. Opening under the club-focused, synth-heavy title track, the debut progressively works its way through raw, low-tempo electronics served with grit and conviction..
